Socks and a baby blanket

Hi all!  I have a couple FOs to show you today!

I finished another pair of socks the other day:

Pattern: generic 64 stitch cuff-down heel-flap socks with eye-of-partridge heel
Yarn: Lotus Yarns Chakra in colorway Katherine (a lovely brown/pale blue/grey)
Needles:  US2
Started:  Jan 22, 2012
Finished:  March 13, 2012

Close up of heel

The yarn is a sumptuous MCN blend (merino/cashmere/nylon) that feels just lovely on the feet.  It’s a shame the weather is warming up and I won’t be able to wear these very often until fall and winter rolls back around.  Oh well – one more pair to add to my hand-knitted sock drawer is always nice!

My other Finished Object is a baby blanket – the gift knitting I had been working on the last few weeks.  The recipient received it today, so I can go ahead and show it to you!

Pattern: Op Art by Melissa Dominguez (in Knitty Fall 2008)
Yarn: Knit Picks Swish DK in colors Dusk and Dove Heather
Needles:  (I can’t remember! – I think it was US 6, but I’m not positive.)
Started:  February 18, 2012
Finished:  March 10, 2012
Modifications: none – I knitted the small size listed.  I love this pattern – I had made my sis-in-law a pink and white one for my niece, and it turned out so lovely that I just had to do a blue and grey one for my soon-to-be-here nephew, too.  I can’t wait to meet him!  🙂

So that’s what I’ve finished recently!  Be sure to hop over to Tami’s Amis to see some more finished objects!

Happy Knitting!

      1. I love your beautiful qutlis which I just discovered, and the stash sock idea is a really good one. My own small victory has been finishing one fair isle mitten using a pattern from the 1940s it took a long time and a few attempts to get it right. I’ll perhaps get the second of the pair finished by the time winter comes round again!

    1. I am working on my first-ever pair of alygre socks. They’re a little rough around the edges, but I don’t know if a non-knitter would notice. My back-and-forth stockinette is zigzaggy and my in-the-round stockinette is fine, that is to say straight up and down. I’m using Irish cottage knitting technique, so maybe that’s it?
