FO Friday

I actually have a FO to show you on a Friday!  How about that!

I finished my Sacre Coeur shawl the other day, and just in the nick of time, too.  My design yarn came the day I finished the shawl, otherwise I would have had to set the shawl down and finish it later.  I didn’t get around to blocking it until yesterday, though.

Pattern: Sacre Coeur by Nim Teasdale
Yarn: Crochet the Winter Hunter Yarns: Sparkle Sock in colorway ‘Frozen Icicles’
Needles: US 6 and 7
Started: Feb 2, 2017
Finished:
Feb 18, 2017

Finished Measurements: 18″ deep at center, and 70″ wide.  This sucker is long.  More like a scarf than a shawl.  I’m not sure how I feel about the shape- I’ll have to wear it sometime and see what I think about it.  The subtle sparkle in the yarn is great though.  I definitely need an Elsa-esque outfit to wear with it. 😉

Pattern was good, pretty easy to follow.  I did 6 repeats of chart 2 and 2 full repeats of the edging chart before binding off.  I bound off VERY loosely so I could get decent points.  As it is they are still pretty shallow.

So, now I’m deep into design knitting!  My socks should be done in the next couple days hopefully, and then it’ll be lace shawl design time and article writing time.  Oh, and class prep time too!  I have 2 new teaching appearances to announce!

I’ll be teaching at the Carolina Fiber Fest in Raleigh, NC – March 24 -25th. (I’ll be there the 25th.  Classes will be posted soon!)

I’ll also be teaching a ‘Sweater Basics’ class here in Charlotte at Baskets of Yarn!  Six hour class – two 3 hr sessions: April 22 and May 6 from 11-2pm.  Join me there to learn about knitting sweaters!

(And I believe there are still spots available for the Unwind Getaway: April 28-May 1 in Blowing Rock, NC.)

I have a very busy Spring!  I hope to get to see you at one or more of these events!

For now, Happy Knitting!
