SAFF 2017 Recap

Hello everyone! I’m back from a fantastic week at SAFF! This was my first year teaching there, and I will most certainly be back because all my classes went great! Every single one of my students (36 in total over 5 classes and 4 days) were FANTASTIC! I had just so much fun teaching everyone.
On Wednesday afternoon we had a chance to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway a bit (my husband and sons came with me and we camped at the Asheville West KOA). I was hoping to see more red leaves than we did – I think the wind blew off the red leaves first! But I did manage to see a few.

Then it was time to do my job and teach! I had a few breaks during the week though, thankfully. I needed time to shop, after all! (And a bit of time to rest!)
I taught 5 classes from Thursday through Sunday: A Sampling of Short Rows, Decorative Cast Ons and Bind Offs, Finishing School, Steeking, and Beginner Fair Isle.
One student came to Finishing School with her swatches blocking! 🙂 As long as you come to class with swatches to use it’s all good!

I was a bad teacher and forgot to get photos of my two Thursday classes. Oops. But then I remembered on Friday and at least got a few photos for the rest of my classes!

Steeking class: students in various stages of cutting their knitting!

Three cut steeks for this happy student!

Of course, I did a bit of shopping too…. 😉
Bag on left is from Jan Smiley. Fiber underneath is matching yarn from Kristen’s Fiber Studio. Middle top bag (RV Halloween print) is from Bede Sisters. Fiber on right is lace yarn from Neighborhood Fiber Co. Bags in middle (Star Wars and DC characters) are from Sew Flo. And Buttons on bottom are all from Dusty’s Vintage Buttons.

Until next time, Happy Knitting! (I have a cool WiP to show you, so I’ll post with that in a few days.)
