Designing, Patterns Released, WiP Posts

WiP Wednesday 6/13/18 and New Pattern!

Hi there! I hope your week is going well. I’d love to see what you guys have on your needles this week- feel free to comment below with what you have in progress!

My week is going great so far! I found out yesterday that I passed the TKGA Knitting Instructor Certification program, so that was great  news! 🙂 I should be getting my binder back in a few days. I look forward to seeing the feedback on it. I’m toying with the idea of going for the TKGA Knitting Judges certification program next – it has just been revamped and re-released – but I may wait a little bit before signing up for it, just to give myself a bit of a break. lol

I’m about halfway done with sock #1 of the socks I am designing for the next Cast On magazine:

I’m not 100% sure how I will treat the gusset area, but I have a couple of ideas. I need to start really cranking on these because my deadline is creeping up on me!

And I get a row done here and there on my Vitamin D cardigan too:

Not to the sleeve division just yet. But it’s coming along slowly. It’s what I take to appointments and such since it’s hard to take design knitting with me to things like that – especially when I’m ‘actively’ designing the thing. (Read: toying with how to do things and needing to write down what I did!)

Speaking of designing – I just released my squishy socks pattern! Introducing ‘Freckled Rib Socks‘:

These are worked cuff down in a very simple rib variation pattern. The gusset is located at the sole – with a heel-flap style heel. The pattern is written for two sizes – an 8″ cuff circumference and a 9″ cuff circumference, so they would make great socks for the men in your life! They are very stretchy too, since they are essentially ribbed socks.

I hope you like them!

I have a couple classes coming up this Saturday at Cheers to Ewe as well – Needle Tatting and Decorative Cast Ons and Bind Offs. Come take a class with me! As always, you can see my full teaching schedule over there —–> on the sidebar. 🙂

I’ll have my next Friday Finishing post on Friday – so come back to see that. Until then, Happy Knitting!
