I finally broke out my poor neglected wheel. It’s been what seems like forever since I spun anything – she’s all dusty, poor thing. I had started spinning this a while ago and then got distracted by knitting and stopped in the middle of it.
So now I’m determined to finish it so I can start on my new alpaca fleece.
Wut? Fleece doesn’t count as stash, right? That’s my justification for buying some when I’m currently on a ‘Cold Sheep’ stash diet. It’s not a sheep, and they’re now cold alpacas, so it’s all right… don’t look at me like that.
Let’s move on.
I decided not to push myself for that deadline on my sweater design – I didn’t like the contract terms after reading them through more thoroughly. The contract (it was for a contest) had entrants sign away all rights to the designs they submitted. I didn’t like that, so it’ll get done whenever it gets done – which will still probably be soon, because I’m in love with the design, and it’s almost done anyway. Not sure if I’ll self-publish or submit it somewhere, but I’ll cross that bridge later.
Long story short, I picked back up my cashmere shawl/stole this last week, and got a few more rows done:
I’m about done with three full chart repeats of the lace (out of 20). Still a long way to go on it.
So, that’s pretty much it for this week. We’ll see what I can get done now that I don’t have a deadline hanging over me.
