Today I am releasing my Master Knitter sweater design as a pattern — Bidding Spring Arise.
Available now on Ravelry and in my PayHip Store!
Combining traditional Fair Isle techniques with some “non-traditional” techniques, Bidding Spring Arise meshes geometric Fair Isle patterns with organic flowing colorwork patterns.
Duplicate stitch flowers allows a pop a color to brighten up the hem and tie the elements together.
The modified drop shoulder construction allows for a relaxed fit, and all raw steek edges are thoughtfully covered in the final finishing.
The pattern is available in one size only — 43″ finished bust/chest. Notes are provided for size adjustments, however. This size should fit a bust from about 36 to 44″, depending on the ease desired. I really struggled with whether or not to release this at all, due to it only being written for one size. It’s a pattern for an experienced knitter, however, so hopefully the knitter that is ready to tackle this pattern will also be equipped to modify it to fit them better.
This pattern calls for 10 colors of fingering yarn (I used Knit Picks Palette). There are yarn substitution notes in the pattern as well.
