Well, my sock design wasn’t thrilling me, so I ripped it out and am starting anew with it. Such is life. I’m hoping a few new stitch pattern books (ordered today) will inspire me. We’ll see. Moving on to what is on my needles today:
We had a couple of really cold days there last week, and perhaps because of that I had the urge to cast on a sweater. Knowing full well that I won’t be able to actually wear said sweater for many months. I’m almost done with the back. It’s Girl Friday from the Fall ’09 Knitty – and I’m using the yarn reclaimed from one of my very first sweaters (which was frogged last year because it never fit me well). It’s Plymouth Yarn Silk Merino in a brownish/tan color. I’m quite pleased with how it’s turning out – very squishy and soft.
Of course, some of that is due to the fact that the yarn is still all kinky from the frogging. (hee hee – it’s kinky yarn! Why yes, I’m a 12 year-old at heart.) Hopefully this sweater will fit much better than the last! (It was a horrid turtleneck that was way too big, so it’s bound to be an improvement at least.)
The cashmere shawl hasn’t been touched since the week before last. Poor shawl.
That’s pretty much all I have this week! Maybe next week I’ll have a finished sweater to show you? Not out of the realms of possibility at the rate I’m knitting this sucker. If I get it done fast then I just might be able to squeeze a wearing or two out of it before the weather turns hot as hell! One can hope.
Happy Knitting all!
Looking good! You’ve made such progress! You always amaze me with how much you get done.
