I finished my Mystery Shawl! Only took me a week and a day! I love it- very summer-y, and I even have a banquet to wear it to tomorrow, too!
Pattern: Summer Mystery Shawlette by Wendy Johnson
Yarn: Three Irish Girls McClellan Fingering (merino/bamboo/nylon) in color Georgia Peach
Needles: US7
Started: Thursday, May 26, 2011
Finished: Friday, June 3, 2011
Finished measurements: (blocked) 54 inches wide, 24 inches tall.
Modifications: none!
Blocking wires make blocking a triangle shawl easy-peasy! It’s still drying, so all I have are the blocking photos – you’ll have to wait a few days for a better FO picture. (It’s also very hard to get the color to show correct, so I’m hoping once it’s dry some outdoor photos will show the colors better. It looks very like a peach, though!)
I love how it turned out! It was just what I needed for a break from my other knitting and to jump-start my motivation. I’ve got too many WiPs going on, and several of them are long-term projects, so I’ve been feeling a bit swamped – and having no FO’s to show yet for all the work I’ve been doing is a bit frustrating. But here’s a pretty FO to cheer me up!
And today’s my birthday, too! Here’s my cake: German Chocolate.
My boys helped me make it today. 🙂 I can’t wait to have a piece!!
Happy Knitting everyone!!
