I’m about halfway done with the Lolita vest!
I started this on Friday. It’s going pretty fast! I have a new skirt that I think it’d be perfect with, and I have an event tomorrow night that I’d like to wear it to, but I doubt I’ll get the vest done (and blocked) in time for tomorrow night. 🙁 I have another event Friday night I could wear it to, but I probably won’t have it done by then either. Oh well.
Anyhow – it’s knit side to side – that cut-out section is one of the armholes and the first notch will get seamed for the neck and shoulder seam. It’ll make more sense when I get the rest done – I’ll show you how it gets seamed up. I’m loving the yarn – Rowan Revive – a 100% recycled yarn of silk and cotton and viscose. It’s a bit rough to work with, but I think it’ll soften up nicely once it’s blocked.
The color is kind of a pale greyish-blue, very pretty. A very ‘me’ color. 🙂
Who knows, maybe I’ll have a FO for you Friday! Just maybe.
Happy Knitting!!
Really like that. That chevron sort of detail is very in right now.
Lovely! I really like the color a lot.
The colour is fabulous and I love the design. I you have somewhere really special to wear it since you can’t get it done by Friday.
Thank you! I’m sure I can find somewhere to wear it to once it’s done! 🙂
Very cool vest, I love the open spaces and the colour you’re using is beautiful. And my mom just bought herself some Rowan Revive, so I’m happy to hear you’re loving it. 🙂
Thanks! Yes, I think she’ll like the Revive!
The vest looks good. I have never seen a vest pattern where it is knit sideways, the construction looks very interesting.
It’s really neat – and the side to side construction makes it hang in such a flattering way!
I love that vest! the color is perfect. I think I’m going to add it to my ravelry queue.
I adore the colour 🙂
