I’ve finished my Lolita vest – I stayed up way too late last night finishing it! But I wanted to have it done by today so I could cast on my Project #3 for Camp Loopy. I’ll show you the vest once it’s blocked and seamed – perhaps in the next few days.
For my third Camp Loopy project I’m doing the Elizabeth Zimmerman 100th Anniversary Camping half-circle shawl. I casted on this morning and now have 30 rows done:
I’ve switched out the ‘Cats Paw’ lace for a ‘Ladybug’ lace pattern I found in Knitted Lace of Estonia instead. I wanted a more lacy first section than the cats paw seemed to give. And I’m planning on possibly changing the edging lace as well, but I’ll decide that once I get closer to the end.
I’m using Sanguine Gryphon Bugga! yarn in the color ‘Dog Days Cicada’ – a very lovely pale grey-green color. I adore working with Bugga. This is my second project using it (my first was a whole cardigan in it!), but I have several single skeins hanging out in my stash that are destined to be socks (…maybe). This shawl is going to be so sumptuously soft, I can’t stand it. I want to squeeze it and yell ‘It’s sooo FLUFFY, I’m gonna DIE!’, but I think I’ll refrain from doing that in public. 😀
I hope, hope, hope I can get this done by the September 15th deadline. I’ve done a large shawl in less than 30 days before, it’s just a matter of making sure I get some good knitting time in each day.
No Master Knitting to show you this Monday – I was bad and didn’t touch my swatches this last week, but I promise to have at least something to show you next week! Pinky swear!
Happy Knitting everyone!! (I am very happily knitting away with my Bugga!)
I have got to get me some Bugga! You have totally brought me around on it.
The shawl looks beautiful so far!
Thanks!!
