I meant to post last Friday, because I had one thing I had finished, but the boys and I went to the NC Zoo the whole day instead. 🙂  So I’ll show you that FO plus this week’s FO today!
Firstly, I finished my Ice Queen (which had been started way back in 2009!)
Pattern: Ice Queen by Romi Hill from Knitty Winter 2007
Yarn: Rowan Kidsilk Haze in the color Heavenly
Needles: US 5 and 7
Started: Â October 21, 2009
Finished: Â March 24, 2012
Modifications: None. Â I knitted the garter stitch version as written.
I started this when I first got into lace knitting. Â I really struggled to get through the project, so it got put into hibernation (for a long time!). Â I stopped about half-way through. Â When I pulled it back out about a month ago, it didn’t take me long to get through the last half of the project. Â Even so, garter stitch lace in mohair yarn is really not very enjoyable. We’ll see if I’ll ever wear it, I’m not sure I will!! Â But it is very delicate and pretty.
Another project I just finished the other day – which only took me maybe a few hours of work – is a fun guy:
Pattern: Â Yip Yip Alien by WikiHow
Yarn: Â Universal Yarns Classic Worsted in a blue color
Hook: Â 4.0 mm
Started: Â April 4
Finished: Â April 5!
I basically followed the ‘how-to’ of the pattern, but I made my guy a little bit bigger (about 3 inches across instead of 1) and did the eyes in all crochet instead of the straw method given. Â I think he turned out awesome!!
I have some purple yarn that would make him a great companion – you really have to have a pair of these, don’t you think??
Well, that’s what I’ve finished recently! Â Be sure to check out Tami’s Amis for some more FO Friday posts!
Happy Knitting!
Very nice – I especially love that alien! I think my kids would love a few of those!!!
This is really pretty and it looks so soft and cosy!
