Hello from Charleston!
Today was day 3 here at the TKGA conference. I didn’t have any classes to teach today – but I still happened to get up pretty early. So I decided to do some sightseeing while I’m here. I drove over to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and toured the plantation house and spent a good amount of time walking in the gardens. It was a lovely morning, although it was hot and humid!
I headed back to the conference center around lunchtime. Then I went to shop some more at the show floor (made a couple more purchases- the button vendor!! Dear me I fell down hard in her booth – I’m going to need to lock up my wallet tomorrow!) and then hung out for a bit at the TKGA table. I ran into a friend by chance, and we went and had dinner together – that was a lovely unexpected happening!
Tonight was the TKGA Yarn Tasting, and it was a wonderful evening event. There were desserts on a buffet, and a cocktail bar – but the real ‘buffet’ was getting to sample tiny yarn balls of loads of different yarn brands! (Arenda had wound ALL of the tiny balls by hand – all by herself! There had to be over 1000 little balls!!)
There were lots of door prizes, and there was also a fashion show of items attendees had knitted with some of our sponsor’s yarns. So many lovely knits on display!
It was a fantastic evening event – lots of fun!
Today was another full day for me! I’m having so much fun!
And I promise I will post pictures of my purchases tomorrow or Sunday after I get home. 🙂
I can’t believe tomorrow is our last day – the time here has just flown by! I’ll post again tomorrow, so keep an eye here!
Happy Knitting!!
