Patterns Released, Teaching

New Pattern, DC trip and sickness

Hello all!  So sorry for my long absence – I was pretty sick all of last week, so I was unable to post an update.  Now I’m feeling much better, so I can get that update to you!

I had wonderful students for my 2 classes at the Carolina Fiber Festival!  Both classes went very well, and hopefully my students enjoyed themselves and learned some things. 🙂  My next teaching appearances will be on April 22 and May 6th at Baskets of Yarn – teaching ‘Sweater Basics’, and at the Unwind Retreat in Blowing Rock April 28 – May 1.  I hope to see you at one or the other (or both!)

I have a new pattern out!  Light the Torches Socks are in the newest edition of Cast On magazine – I hope you like them!  They were lots of fun to design and knit.

They are knit toe up, in 2 colors, with a round toe and afterthought heels.

I’m finishing up my most recent design – a lace shawl.  It’s turned out lovely, I’m quite excited about it.  It’ll be in the Summer issue of Cast On, along with my article on Estonian Lace.  Keep your eyes open for my other lace shawl to be published around June as well – I’m excited about that one, too!  This summer is going to be a summer of lace for me. 🙂

We spent the last week in March in Washington DC for an award my husband had won at his work.  We had a wonderful time, and were lucky enough to see the cherry trees in bloom!  The highlight of our trip had to be getting a private tour of the Capitol Building and getting to sit on the House floor.  Running a close second was our private dinner at the Air and Space museum – it was so nice touring the museum with so few people!  (And the food was excellent as well!)

Well, that’s it from me for now!
Until next time, Happy Knitting!
