I totally meant to post on Monday for Masters Monday, but I forgot to. Â I do have some Master Knitter stuff to show you this week, so I’ll show you today instead!
Here’s my Swatch #7Â pre- and post-seaming (I had shown you the pre-seaming shot last week, if you recall)Â –
I love the magic of seaming just about as much as I love the magic of blocking. There’s no trace of the stair steps from the original unseamed swatches – and that is accomplished by choosing your seam stitches very carefully! 🙂
Here’s Swatch #8 blocking:
This one is short rows with a three needle bind off seam. Not sure if I’m happy with the tension around the short rows, but I’ll leave it for now and see what the committee members have to say about it – maybe I’m being overly critical.
Moving on to my ‘fun’ knitting – here are my socks as of today:
I’m not happy with the ribbing on the toe of the first one, so I think once I finish the second one I’ll rip the toe out on the first one and redo it. I hope to have the second sock done in a day or two – I only have one and a half more repeats of the instep cable to go before I can start the toe! These are for Camp Loopy project #2, so I need to finish them by the 15th at the very latest – but I should have them done way before then.
I’ll fill you in on my project selection and yarn for Camp Loopy project #3 once I get the yarn in the mail, which should be in just few days.
Happy Knitting!!
That is a great looking pair of socks!
Thanks!!
I’m making socks too — on my second with a deadline of the 15th (but it looks like for different reasons than yours). Best of luck getting them done — and fixing the toe should you end up doing that. They look fantastic, imo!! 😀
Thanks! 🙂
YAY MASTERS KNITTING! Those seams look amazing, and I couldn’t agree more with being constantly amazed by the magic of the seam.
🙂
I love those socks! And whatever that first project is, it looks intense!
Thanks! The first project is the swatches for the TKGA Master Knitter Level 2 program. I’m hoping to have all 24 swatches done by the time I go to the TKGA conference at the end of September!! (16 more to go! eeek!)
Very striking socks. Camp Loopy looks like lots of fun, but I’m overcommited as it is! Aren’t we all?
🙂 Oh yes – I think I was a little crazy to commit myself to Camp Loopy with all the other stuff I have going on this summer! But it has been a blast!
I love the socks, hey are awesome… but then I am so partial to that colour. Good job on the join and taking the Master class – a pipe dream for me.
Take care!
Thanks so much! And I encourage anyone who’s interested to give the Master Knitter program a try! I learned so much working through level 1, and my knitting improved so much – even if I never complete the other two levels it was worth it! (But I’m determined to complete the other 2 levels so I can get that pin!!) 🙂
Your Master Class is spectacular. Well done.
The socks are flying! Will they be ready for FO Friday?
Thanks! Yes – I think they will be done for FO Friday! I got to the start of the toe of sock #2 last night, so I’m thinking they may both be done tonight!
